The chapter at Jackson Street evolved and now sponsors orphans and widows that are housed at the Brightland Orphanage in Cameroon West Africa. Under the guidance of Brother and Sister Elangwe, we are provided monthly updates about the children and their progress. These updates include a financial accounting and any special request for their current needs.
Each Sister of LACE commits to becoming a Sponsor. The Sponsors are asked to make an annual donation of a minimum of $100. That $100 feeds and clothes one child for one month.
As Sisters in Christ on a mission we combine fellowship and prayer in our monthly gatherings as we plan events, such as the annual Ice Cream Social, Soup and Salad Day and other events you may have patronized over the years. These events encourage congregational participation and are typically held following morning worship.
“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” – Titus 2:3-5
